Roel Spruit started using Blender as a hobby in 2000. After Blender became opensource he also programmed some features for it. From 2002 to to 2006 he visited and moderated the elYsiun.com forums, in 2006 he became the owner and administrator of BlenderArtists.org (formerly elysiun.com) after Timothy Kanters stepped down. He currently works fulltime as a Software Developer at a well-known Dutch webdesign firm and maintains and develops the BlenderArtists.org website in his spare time.
