Biography

Thorsten Schlüter is a graphic artist and web developer currently living in Berlin, Germany and working for AVM since 2003. He started his working life as a qualified network engineer in 1995, creating 2D and 3D graphics as a hobby. After moving to Hamburg in 1997, he began to focus on producing computer graphics as part of his job. At 1998, he discovered Blender, became a proud C-key owner – and after a short excursion to Maya he returned to Blender in 2002. In his free time he loves to play computer games, watch movies, model silly characters and play guitar.

Presentation: Blender is my workhorse - Blender's role in a graphic artist's daily workflow

I'd like to show how I use Blender to produce images and animations. I work as a graphic artist and web developer for a German company called AVM. We manufacture broadband routers and other communication hardware, for example 'FRITZ!Box' and 'FRITZ!Card'. I produce press photos, web graphics and animations from real photos and rendered images. My Blender and YafRay images have been published in several German computer magazines and books. I plan to explain my workflow on the basis of prepared files using Blender, Photoshop and Flash.
