Render:

- Render window now displays a smal bar on top with the stats, and keeps the stats after render too. Including "spare" page support. Is easier visible that way, but also to remove the awkward code that was drawing stats in the Info header (extremely slow on some ATIs too)

- Render window now opens with actual size, when a Border and Crop are set.

- Holding/dragging LMB in Render window now shows Z value as well.

- Note: for stability in all platforms, events in Render Window during rendering are blocked now.

- Render with "DispView" now displays correctly for Border renders

- Quicktime on OSX exports RGBA movies now

- Textures Wood/Marble now have three waveforms to choose from: Sine, Saw and Triangle. The Saw wave allows for much more realistic wood, especially in combination with a ColorBand.

- The addition in 2.36 for viewing correct rendering of bump mapping now is an option, button in "Texture" Panel. It is off by default, for backwards correct rendering.

- Added Minneart diffuse and WardIso specular to the shader menu. Minneart gives nice control over darkness/brightness areas, the WardIso gives 'plastic' style sharp or fuzzy specular.

Mesh Edit:

- Mesh edit, new "Tech Draw" options: for display of edge length, face corner angles and face area.

- Mesh edit, added option "Edge Rotate" in Edge menu (CTRL E). Note: this works best on single faces.

Curve Edit:

- When Curve objects have no front/back faces, the bevels were only drawn for the outer part. Now it also makes interior bevels, so you can have a curve become a 'solid' ring easily. Note: only works when you disable filling option "Front" and "Back".

- Deform with Curves now take the 'tilt' value into account. Note, the tilting only works for '3D' curves, and is accessible in EditMode curve with TKEY.

Meta Object

- All snap operations work for MetaElems now

- Updated pulldown menu options

- It is possible to rotate with MetaBalls in edit mode now

- Shortcuts added for hiding of MetaElems, works like for Mesh (H, SHIFT+H, ALT+H).

- MetaElems now draw stiffness circle as well, allowing to select and scale this (S key or Manipulator)

Interface:

- Added support for Texture Font draw in interface. Much faster than previous "Pixmap". Still an option in the InfoWindow, user settings.

- Window split (RMB on edge): user now can interactively choose which window will be split. To change the direction of a split press TAB or MMB.

- Pull down menus now align better when there's no space to draw on preferred location.

- Removed the (win32 only) Fullscreen button from the UI. It was too unstable.

- OSX G5 Nvidia: added temporal hack to display bitmap fonts on correct locations... this is actually a driver bug.

- New default startup .blend compiled in, has as 2nd theme the popular "dark orange" version.

Animation:

- Paths now can have its Child Objects wit fixed distance offsets from each other, for example to animate a train with wagons. Option is in Curve Edit Buttons, "PathDist Offs".

Demo: download.blender.org/demo/test/pathdist.blend

- Particle emittors now can be parented to an armature Bone, and give the correct path for each particle. Note that this doesn't work for deform!

3D Window:

- The grid function (transform translate, snap-to) now uses the grid step as displayed in the 3d window, so it depends on how much you zoomed in/out.

- Restored traditional "Turn Table" style view rotation. Is user option next to "Track Ball" rotate.

- Added in Nkey panel (transform properties) option to show in editmode at choice the global or local coordinate values. Same option works for the "Tech draw" options.

UV editor:

- Made view translation and zooming 'smooth' in the uv editor. Also Ctrl+MMB zooming was added.

- Added the E-key, LSCM unwrap popup back again.

- Moved Weld/Align out of transform code, now it's a menu.

- Removed confirmation popups for LSCM unwrapping in the uv editor, didn't make sense anymore now we have undo.

- Extended select linked, to work more like it does in edit mode:

- L: select linked uvs/faces under the mouse

- Shift+L: select/deselect linked uvs/faces under the mouse

- Ctrl+L: how L worked before

- More accurate uv selection: when selecting one uv from a group of uvs that are in the same position, it now selects the uv belonging to the face the mouse is over, instead of a random uv.

- 'View Selected' (numpad dot-key) for both faceselect mode and the uv editor.

Text Editing:

- Added option in pulldown menu ("Text to 3D") which creates a 3D Font Object for each line of text.

- Added bracket matching

- Added syntax coloring support. Colors can be found in the Themes editor (Info Window)

Sequencer

- In the Nkey panel for strips you now can set or disable Premul Alpha.

- Also added the "Filter" and "Mul" option.

- Sequence strips now support file names up to 256 chars.

- Relative paths ("//" code convention) now works in Sequencer
