This page is the official Blender Foundation Trainer Certificate for:
I was born in Monza. I am a sculptor, an architect and a professor of sculpture at the
Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan where I am the coordinator of the Master of Science degree in Sculpture.
I work with Stefania Albertini -professor of sculpture at the same Academy- on four hands sculptures and three-dimensional projects since 1992.
The interest in the physical and tangible third dimension has been evolving towards the
relationship between the sculpture and the architectural and urban space to get to
interactive virtual sculpture in virtual world.
I am concentrating mainly on the use of Blender as a tool for the expression and the
expansion of artistic creativity.
I would like to show how to use Blender for the project of visual arts -particularly sculpture and architecture.
I work in virtual reality, then I realize my projects in the real life, then I go back to Blender and I animate the objects and I give them interactivity with Bullet or the Blender Game Engine.
I think of Blender as a vehicle for entering to other dimensions: in collaborative 3D virtual worlds as Second Life, Cyberlandia, or Project Wonderland or in physical simulations as video games or movies or directly in Real Life.
Blender is a crucial tool for contemporary art. It' s a very complete software and it' s a link among visual arts -I mean sculpture, painting and graphics- and architecture, stage design, design, applied arts and, finally, multimedia and interactive virtual worlds. This happens because it mixes 2D with 3D, interactivity with Web 3D, Immersive Internet and Virtual Reality with the Real Life.
You can model an entire virtual world which is also a parametric world that you can
measure with the Blender units. Then you can interact with this world and you can share it with other people on the internet using Subverse, Open Sim or other software. You can use also Blender to control special effects in the reality with electronic systems, finally the possibilities are endless if you are able to use the Python language within it.
