Cycles with openCL not working effectively

Postby simtron » Wed Nov 07, 2012 3:18 am

I have a HP Envy 4 1025tx system
2.6GHz gen3 i5 quad core
radeon 7670m
4Gb Ram
Linux Mint Maya64 with non opensource AMD drivers.

The performance of CPU rendering is better than my GPU on cycles.
I've tested various cases but this seems to be prevailing in all circumstances. Is blender's support for opencl bad or is it my system??

I believe CUDA is a more mature technology than OpenCL, but in this case, I would bet on your graphics card as being the weak link.

The other day on IRC, someone was saying their CPU ( i7) smoked their GPU when it came to rendering.
