Every time I attempt to render a file it goes through the process but i cant find the file. ive set it so i know where the temp folder is and the location for the render but there are no files. can someone help me?

have you tried to render it from the command line and see the output ?

on windows, they go into C:\tmp\ for me, not %temp% !

You could simply change the render path (render tab) to a known location
