I used to play around with modelling back in the Amiga days and I've been interested in checking out Blender for a while now.

At the moment Packt Publishing are running a promotion on ebooks (£3 each!!) and this seemed like a good opportunity to finally dive in, but I'm concerned that many of their books are for version 2.49 and 2.5.

Blender 3D 2.49 Architecture, Buildings, and Scenery

Blender 2.5 Materials and Textures Cookbook

I'm interested in these books as much for helping me around the Blender UI as learning modelling/texturing skills.

Does anyone know if I'd suffer greatly from buying either of these two books or should I only be looking at books published 2012 onwards?

Thanks for your help.

I just realised that this is probably the wrong forum to post these kinds of questions. Now that I've opened my eyes I see that Blender Artists is going to be more appropriate.

My apologies.

...my apologies. I was a bit over zealous and killed your account.

Your email address register@ an e-publisher site raised a few flags.
