Hello,

As i watch online blender tutorial videos... It looks as if several interface tools are missing in the newest version of blender...mainly in the materials and texture tabs...

I cannot see:

>the preview screens (ya know the sphere that shows color, lighting and texture)

>and a lot of functions within the material and texture tabs(specular, shading, halo, volume..amongst other things)

do these functions NOT exist anymore...or....Do I go in and "turn them on" so to speak..

It's real hard to follow tutorial vids when the interface is different than that of the instructor on screen...

And...yes...I've tried to look this info up in the manual...with no luck

I can see them in the latest version I downloaded a couple of days ago...

you have to first select an object, then the materials tab appears. when u have nothing selected the number of tabs on the right is reduced...
