For some reason on my work laptop (windows 2K, 700mhz, 256mb ram) blender is not loading the .b.blend file when I customize and setup my interface and press CTRL-U to save presets. The next time I load blender or even press CTRL-X to erase all, it goes back to the default like it was never saved. I can double click the .b.blend file and it has my custom saved version but it won't load it up pressing CTRL-X or reloading blender.
At first I thought this might be a bug with 2.30 as I just updated my laptop with it. But I downloaded 2.28c and tried the same things and it doesn't load up there either. I've tried searching my entire hard drive for any rogue .b.blend files that it might be loading instead and deleted them... but still no luck. Any ideas anybody?

Yup... thanks for the answer over their. I'll try that tomorrow at work. I'm pretty sure I deleted all *b.blend files though.
As for posting under a different username at elysiun... started using that account over there a while back and haven't changed my nick to match yet.
Thanks again... I'll post tomorrow if it doesn't work.

Still no luck deleting .b.blend files in windows dir. Actually... there were no .b.blend files anywhere on my system except in the blender folder where I installed 2.30. I deleted that one and tried it again and it still doesn't work.

Same Problem Here.
but some how i am able to load default 2.30 blend file but
still not able to save it by CTRL+U in 2.30. and pref never saved in this version.

If I change some of the screens and save my settings (CTRL-U) and then start up fresh (Restart Blender or CTRL-X) it comes back to the default layout with blender 2.30. If I quit out however and open the .b.blend file directly by double clicking it, it opens and has all my settings. So I know its writing it to the correct spot and file but its just not loading it. And as I previously stated. I have no other blend files of any sort on this system right now.

Yes, this is happening to me too. Using Win2k. I found that if I double click the .B.blend file in the .blender folder in 2.30 I get the specified user settings saved. It's saving the settings, but not loading.

yes, i can't able to save pref i do not know what is going wrong in this release.

Still not working for me. I deleted every single blend file off my laptop and mapped network drive and it still won't load up my saved .B.blend file after I create a new one (CTRL+U). Any ideas anyone? Is there a reg key being set somewhere? is something else the culprit?
