Is it possible to use the Object Orient Window to edit the parameter of the selected object?

I was wondering if I can use the Object Orient Window like Houdini's OP Network diagram. A couple of other software has similar concept e.g. AVS, OpenDX and SGI Explorer.

It makes it a lot easier to tweak an animation.

I tried selecting the object in the Object Orient Window but didn't see any window pop up or showing up to allow one to edit its parameter.

it's exactly about that! Phase is trying to improve it, and i think it's a realy good idea!
