Thanks everyone for the awesome work here... this was such a great experience. As said before, you are all winners, really. We've just selected one design to use. :)

Just some observations which may help improve the design...

The logo is too big in relation to the type.
Too much tracking on the type.
The S is weak and the tail of the T is ugly.
The crossbar of the E is relatively too straight and clean.
The canopy of the tree is lost.
The logo is inappropriately symmetrical and could use a lot of refinement.
The underline adds nothing.
Too similar to Avatar.

May I suggest that it would be a good idea to post the Sintel logo and logotype on Typophile's design forum...

It's where a lot of top typographers and design professionals hang out. You can be sure to get expert constructive feedback there, and also increase awareness of Blender at the same time.

I think that's a great idea. Input from pro designers will only make the logo better. There are so many factors to consider when doing something like this, things that a trained designer will be familiar with.
