importing curves

Postby Clovek » Thu May 15, 2003 3:19 pm

Is it possible to import any curves to blender? It loks like blender can`t read .dxf format correctly.

Would a python script be able to do this?

I think a svg import script would be cool.

currenty python cannot, it doesn't have access to other than ipo curves

I have seen a mention of exporting to a type 1 adove font, and inserting as text. Now with blender 2.27 I imagine that would work with ttf too

yes - videoscape

The videoscape (.obj) format can be used to import curves - as well as
meshes, lamps, and surfaces. The file format is documented on
pages 164-168 of the original printed manual. Unfortunately one of the pages
has fallen out of my copy, but i do have the into for mesh, bezier, and nurbs.

This page has the content from the manual:
