How to add name/label on a mesh with python script.

Postby auchaunn » Thu Jan 05, 2012 10:51 am

Hi peeps!

I have question about how to add a name/id/label on a mesh with python.
example:
I want to add this: "206" = ID
through this script
bpy.ops.mesh.primitive_uv_sphere_add(segments=32, ring_count=16, size=0.1, location=(0.2683, 3.4048, 6.3122))

So it automatically shows up under the outliner list.
As for today if i want to give a mesh an id or label. i have to manually select a mesh through the outliner and type the label or ID i want it to have.

Thanks for all the replies btw.
