Simple question. Is it possible to have objects, obeying bullet physics logic, re-enter a scene on the opposite side they exited from? (Something like the old "Asteroids" game, if you're familiar with that.)

First, I would suggest you to post your next interrogations on blenderartist.com. It is much more lively and have more veteran game users to help you with your questions.

For your question, yes it would be possible. It would require the use of python scripts but I think it shouldn't be too complicated to code.

Thanks, Guillaume. I'll look into python scripts, and possibly repost the question to the artist community. It now occurs to me that a related, perhaps more serious question is, when objects drift out of the scene, does blender forget about them when they've gone beyond a certain distance, or does it continue to calculate their position and remember their properties?
