How to make leg bones children of the torso bone?

Postby paulcmnt » Sat Mar 03, 2012 2:07 pm

I'm a complete Blender novice and I'm trying to create a humanoid skeleton. I'm having problems figuring out how to make my leg bones children of the torso bone. Here's how my skeleton looks like:

As you can see from the bone hierarchy, the legs are not children of the torso. This is because I extruded them from the lower part of the torso bone. Is there any way I can fix this?

Also, on another note, would this be a good skeleton for 2D aniamtions?[/img]

Select the individual bone in Edit mode. In the Object Properties window, you will see a tab for individual bone properties (the icon is a bone, right next to the human-figure icon for properties for the entire armature), and in there, you will see a field labelled “Parent:”—click on this to see a popup menu of the names of all your other bones, just pick the right one.
