Hello people,

It's about a week that i started learning blender and have 2 questions. I was doing modeling and today i decided to start colouring and texturing but i can not do anything nice. Every time i try to make wooden chair or smth like that, it looks really bad, wood texture is not working how i want, so my question is, can you please give me a link of tutorials for beginners in colouring.
The other question is simpler. How can i add a picture to my scene. My scene is a simple room, which has windows and i want to add a picture behind the window, so i want that picture to be seen out of the window...
