ocean simulator in game engine

Postby senne » Sat May 19, 2012 6:26 pm

Hey

I would like to have the ocean simulator animated in my game.
A boat has to sail over the water so it is not enough to use a shader.

If I start the game the ocean isn't moving. what do I have to do?

thank you for the respons

Did you try baking the ocean simulator?

This file simulates "mathematically" the effects of waves on a boat:

I don't know whether this is what you're searching for: actually waves are invisible, but the boat oscillates very realistically.
Wave length, direction, amplitude, and period can be customized.

It's not that the boat it floating at the same point.
the problem is making an animated ocean. I wanted to do it with the ocean simulator but the animation isn't working in game mode.
