What's to stop us making the entire Blender interface out of 3-dimensional Blender objects ? We could bootstrap the whole thing in the game engine.
Or should I go and have a rest ?.

Go rest please! That is not a good Idea, and I don't think adding "skins" right now is a good idea either. I say right now we make blender a really powerful rendering/modeling/animation package and screw looks. Anyway, I really like the blender interface the way it is.

I like the Blender interface as it is. And most projects which startet to support skins don't allow the user to use the plain old interface. Look at ICQ i'm trying to use it on an older 233Mhz Pentium, it chrashes every 30 Minutes. So if you start with Skin Support please keep the the choice at the user whether he want's it or not.
