What's with the big ad at the top of the page?

Did the Foundation not get enough money from donations??

The donations in the big fundraising drive covered the EUR100K fee to buy back the rights to the sources. There are still plenty of other continuing costs which need to be sponsored, such as the net access and bandwidth and server/hosting/etc. If I remember correctly, 'gold sponsors' also get their ads in the banner rotation.
