hi there,

Has anyone made plants with blender? like trees, bushes, ferns?

I remeber a while back 3D studio had a plug in to make plants which
was called silicon garden (I think).

Any bright spark thinking of creating something like that?

Alternatively, how easy it is to modify the code to create new base objects
like the monkey? Is there a document describing this part of the code?

thanks again,

andy

I haven't tried it with the latest version of blender but
you could try this plugin:

There is also a great tutorial in tutorguide#02 on static particles if you can get ahold of it.

You could probably find an equivilant tutorial online somewhere.

The code to create new base objects is pretty simple, I could be wrong but the whole idea of adding the monkey was you could add any base object you wanted too even a monkey.
However they should be base objects as you mentioned.
If its more specific it would probably just be better to store them all in a blend file as a library of objects.

It might be nice to add a N-polyhidren(sp?)
where you can specify N but other than that what is really
missing? Smile

I tested it with Blender 2.27 and its works great, see i bet alot of us didnt know about that amazing script. We need to publish as many scripts as we can find in a repositry, so that they are easier to find.
