Currently news items open in a new page. Theses usually contain links, that als open in yet another page (or tab). I believe it would be nice to have that changed, so that news items, at least, open in the same window instead.

I think the way news open is good. My problem is that we only get news from Blendernation. We should get other updates from other sites like http://blenderartists.org/ and http://www.blendercookie.com/. We could make a separate, extra, news headline column for one or both of them.
