I import other format model(not .blend). But I can't enter other mode except Object Mode.

In 3DS MAX. Import model will let it become editable mesh. But how to do this "editable" in Blender.

My Blender version is 2.55b

Just right click on the model once you have imported it and press TAB to activate edit mode.
