I see the startup tips in 3DStudio 5.1, when it show what a key do.
So I think, why blender will have a startup like this.
mubac, max takes for ever to start. They "had to" put something in there so that the artist doesn't fall asleep while the app boots. With blender you would only get a 0.001 second glimpse and who can read that fast?
I like blender being small and keeping the documentation/help out of the blender internals will keep a fast lean little app.
If somebody wanted to they could make some python help system that could be loaded at startup.
Startup tips are nice, If python scripts could run on startup this would be a cool optional feature.
