Hello,

I am having problems with particle streams not following their parents. The mesh moves fine but the actual particles won't budge.

If I hit the recalculate all button they snap to where they should be but are then stuck there.

I am pretty sure there is a fix for this but have run out of ideas.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

The Ob button controls how much the speed of the object affects the particles.

Where is the Ob button, and what is its function?

Thanks

Sorry. It is on the same window as the other particle controls. It's in the purplish row between Norm and Rand.

Ob controls how much of the emitting object's speed is used as a starting speed for the particles. This is similar to how the Norm button affects how much of the particles speed comes from the vertex normal. ( strictly speaking, we should say 'velocity' instead of 'speed' since we are talking about speed in a particular direction )

For an example, run your particle animation with Ob:0.000 and then run it again with Ob cranked up all the way to Ob:1.000 and you'll see how this works.

Feel free to ask further if I have explained this badly.

Well, I cranked up the Ob button to 1 and it still didn't budge. Any other ideas?

Thanks

Perhaps I don't understand what you are trying to do. Do you have a .blend file showing this?
