A little help for a freshman

Postby cwaldo39 » Sat Oct 29, 2011 12:11 am

I'm looking into jumping into 3d rendering. Any advice for a "freshman" looking into this kind of thing?

Yup. Go on Blender artist forums and ask the same question. Blender artist is more made for that, this forum is more a technical and development forum.

Next, put Blender cookie (http://cgcookie.com/blender/) and blenderguru (http://blenderguru.com/) in your favorites, start looking for tutorials that seems interesting to you and do them. Tutorials won't teach you everything but they are very nice to start. There are more blender tutorials websites but those two are my favorites. (blendernerd is really cool too)

Welcome to Blender community. =P
P.S.: If you're completely new to blender, I recommend you this page http://cgcookie.com/blender/get-started-with-blender/
P.S.S.: If you're looking for game tutorials (that's the section you are in after all), I recommend you these pages : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScIXZZ4m ... re=related and http://cgcookie.com/blender/2010/05/13/ ... er-part-1/
