Could someone confirm this please? I noticed that creating an armature where one bone is used as IK solver doesn't work (v. 2.30).
Example (the usual one):
1. create armatue with 3 bones, all ik links.
2. at root of third bone place an additional bone (fk link).
3. create an IK solver constraint on the third bone pointing at the fourth bone (from step 2.).
4. now move the fourth bone as usual... mine won't work - it moves as if "influence" for the constraint was under one (it IS exactly 1, triple checked)! So the ik solver bone moves away from the rest of the armature.
Thanks for any help =)

you still get movement on the bones right?
The top 2 should bend.
The grab handle does move away from the root of the 3rd bone, but that is normal for blender. It should pull the bone though

Nope... isn't normal.
I get movement yes, but it should position bone three so it TOUCHES bone four. And it does so in 2.28c... but not in 2.30 anymore!
This is what I get:
And as I mentioned: influence is at exactly 1.000

Hmm, it looks the same on my 2.28c as it does on your 2.3.
Do you have screen shots of 2.28c
I am curious because I was almost convinced I noticed a slight speed decrease with 2.3 armatures. If what you are saying is correct, then these are more than likely related.
cheers

Ok here it is - same situation on 2.28c:
This is the way it is supposed to work.

This system doesn't register my replies, only the ones without pictures... tells me something about "error sending email". You can see my posts (and snapshots) anyway I guess, since you replied. =)

Ok now here's a .blend file I just made with 2.28c. I discovered it works correctly for me in both 2.28c and 2.30! So hopefully it will work for you too =)
