blender very slow on my pc , any way to improve ?

Hello all
i installed the latest blender and previous version also
and its working very very slow . i have average pc here is DoctorGL output of my pc if its helps:
its intel 2 cpu with 4 giga ram running xp 32 bit
can i somehow make it faster ?

Depends on what 'slow' means. Rendering performance depends on the CPU. Modeling depends on the graphics subsystem.

Blender uses OpenGL for all its drawing. Some operating systems come with rather lame OpenGL drivers. Things to do:

Update the video drivers from the manufacturer's site.

Turn off eye candy window managers and themes. Transparency and poor video drivers are natural enemies.

Try playing with Window Draw Mode in User Prefs.
