Hey there
I'll open up with the usual and admit that I'm pretty much a total noob to Blender. I've been following tutorials and videos all day to get my head around the basics and think I've got a pretty good understanding so far. But I've found it quite hard to search for specific things that I'm looking for help with. I've spent the last hour googling around and reading tutorials for uv mapping but none of them seem to touch on what I'm wondering.
Is there anyway that I can select a face and grow it to within the UV seams of the area? For instance if I have the head and neck of a character set up with seems, is there a way for me to then select the head and neck area by selecting a single face and then growing it up until the edge of the border? I'm used to doing this in Max, but to be honest the UV mapping in Max is horrific. Is that feature included in Blender and I just can't find it?
Any help would be great, cheers!

Hey CoDemanX
Thanks for your reply and the video - It is useful as I don't know how to do that either yet but I've attached a couple of screenshots to show what I mean and how it's done in Max. Is this at all possible in Blender?

Yeah that's possible, i found two ways:
In face selection mode, select a face like in your first picture
Go to menu Select > Linked [Ctrl L]
or
In face selection mode, just position mouse cursor above a face and hit L
found it here:

That's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a lot, it's much appreciated - should save me a lot of time
One other question though, when in the UV mapping screen (shift+F10 i believe), how do I get all the faces to appear in there. Right now only the faces I have selected show up in the editor window

Sorry for double post, If found out how to do it. For anyone else looking for an answer as to why all faces aren't appearing in the uv map, just Press A to select all in the 3d view and everything is visible in the UV editor view. I know this seems silly but I'm quite used to Max's combined selection of both uv editor and 3d view
