On attempt to open the Blender.app or BlenderPlayer.app the icon bounces and when clicked on it is disappears.

Please help.

Intel Core 2 Duo 3.06Ghz (64-bit)
4GB Ram DDR3
NVidia GeForce 9400 256MB

Blender 2.49 wants the version of Python it was compiled with, likely Python 2.6.

Blender 2.63 comes with its own version of Python (3.2).

Try running Blender from the command line to get more information about why it is not starting.
