I can render an AVI movie, but I simply cannot render an image in the PNG format to a folder on my desktop for example.I can make it a Blender file but mot a PNG file. What am I doing wrong?

have you tried rendering within the .blend-filepath (// - should be the default)?
maybe you could post a screeni of your rendersettings?

Thanks for the response.
I choose PNG, I go to the file page-in the file path I have "/users//hvonert/desktop" and then name the file below.
Then I go back and render the image. I then go to the desktop where I assume the file should be and it is not there.

I suspect that my problem is in the filepath.
