chat icon can i import .max files

can i import .max files??? and do they have all the textures included

Blender does .3ds along with a couple dozen other formats. See File->User Prefs->Addons for a list.

If .max is a proprietary binary format, the answer is probably no.

Most of the common 3D interchange formats allow texture/material settings: OBJ, 3DS, LWO, Collada etc.
