So I'm still new to Blender (2.63) and I made this little animation and tried rendering it. I saved it as an Avi.jpeg and tried playing it in Windows Media Player. When I did there was just total black through the whole video. Then I save it as a regular jpeg and tried making an image sequence and yet again there was nothing. The video was playing it just there was just a white square where the camera's view was. Anyway can some one please help me its really frustrating. There must be some thing I'm overlooking. Thanks!!

rendering stills works (pressing F12)?

if "yes" you may take a look at your installed codecs. if "no" check your lighting in the scene (f.e. place a lamp in front of your cam-object or something like that).
