i was wondering if there was a way of making motion trails in blender, alot like the ones on this character's limbs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTs10SEog98 if there is a way to do it without a motion path or spline that would be great!

Another thing I'm looking for is a sort of motion "smear" like the one demonstrated here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEd5XOCkrPs&feature=channel&list=UL any help would be much appreciated!
