I can't use Alt + LMB to navigate in blender. I have tried many times but it does not work. Anyone can help?

What action would you want to do with Alt - LMB? AFAIK in the default scheme Alt is not used for any navigation. Check File->User Prefs->Input if there are any settings that would help (there's a "Maya" preset)
