OMG Frustration With Duplicated Objects....Please Help

Postby mb72378 » Sat Oct 20, 2012 7:40 pm

I hope this is in the correct area. I am new to blender. I have been working on my modeling but Im having a really hard time with duplicating objects. When I duplicate and object, then move it it screws up the location or rotation of other objects near by. In an almost sequential way. Nothing is parented.

For example. Im modeling a wall and want to put a window in. I create a cube, size to to be the top frame of the window. Duplicate it and then move it down to be the bottom frame of the window. Then I duplicate that one, and when i try to rotate it to make it the sid of the window frame, everything else rotates with it in a weird way. If I rotate it 90 degrees, everything else rotates but not the whole 90 degrees. Anyone know whats happening?

Sounds like you are making Linked Duplicates. Don't.
