I've been playing with Blender for a while, simple things. But one thing constantly bothers me and that is Lighting Scenes.

Why doesn't blender have any default Lighting Scenes available that the user can use as a starting point. Allot of people just starting out would probably find it a great help and less daunting learning experience if they had something to start with where they could just import their model, render it and get an idea of how it's gonna look. From there, as they get more experienced they can edit the scenarios and even create additional ones specific to their needs.

Even if they weren't added to the software, having a number of scenarios available to download would probably help just as much.

There are a number of nice lighting tutorials floating around on the web. Three Point Lighting is your friend.

Possible reasons for not included 'standard' lighting setups are

* 3 point lighting is really easy to set up
* the lighting needs to match the size and position of your model
