3 D Photo-realistic modelling

Postby mikefrancis » Fri Nov 16, 2012 12:09 am

Hi,

I'm completely new at this, so advance apologies if I get the terminology all wrong.....

Basically, what I'm trying to do is to create a video of a boat which has been generated in Autocad 2000i (so it's a .dwg file), and set it in to a photo realistic setting, like the ocean. Then for the boat to cruise around, make turns, create waves. that sort of thing.

This is the sort of end result I have in mind:

That looks like a lot of work, so something a lot simpler and cruder would work for me just as well.

Right now the boat is in wireframe, but even the wireframe model bobbing around on the ocean would be great.

Any leads, suggestions, where to start ?

Thanks !
