face select

Postby adoorable door » Thu Jan 17, 2013 8:03 pm

pretty straight forward..

how the **** do I deselect the face of a object? maybe it's the wrong term, I don't care. but when I open Edit Mode and click on the face select I will get the blacked out/shaded thing on the face I want to extrude. but after I right click to any face I can't seem to get the blacked part away, only move it. so what should I do?

Try pressing A

It will either select the entire mesh, or deselect the entire mesh.

@Tehrasha A will select/deselect, but the face will still be blacked out.

how large or small is the face?

are you in texture mode?

is viewport shading set to GLSL and there's no lamp?

did you try different drawing methods, e.g. overlap or triple buffer?

as this indicates the active face in contrast to selected faces, it is important for modelling to have it distinguishable. There is no setting to disable that "pattern". But it could be added rather easily, but what for?
