chat icon importing obj and no textures ??

i want to import 3d schematics and i use obj but i never get a texture!!

if the OBJ comes without MTL, then it will be of course without texture. But sometimes, it's just a problem with paths. So make sure Blender finds the texture files.

is there another kind of file that imidiatly includes the textures?

.blend files can contain material settings and also textures themselves (if they have been packed into it). Dunno about other formats, Google SketchUp seems to include image data into its files as well, but no other common 3d format afaik.

a textured model in obj format usually consists if 3 files, OBJ for geometry, MTL for material and at least one image file (texture)
