Hi,
I downloaded blender a quite a while ago and played with it and it was an interesting program . I am now on windows xp and blender 2.23 doesn't work the same as on windows 95.
The cursor creates a path of continuos cursors when you click and drag in the 3d windows and always creates this continuous path of the "cursor arrows" when you move in any of the other windows . Also , blender seems to run slower on Windows xp.
Does 2.3 correct this , I want to explore the game engine of blender so I was looking to stay in 2.23 or 2.25.
Thanks
Mike

In one of the forums here , there was a post about video card issues were I found a fix. I set hardware acceleration to none , which fixed the problem and blender seems to run fine.

Hi mmoir,

I use serveral versions of Blender (2.25 to 2.31). They all runs under WinXP. Only one problem:
after a few seconds windows crashes total. First the mouse-cursur draws a line, then i saw a shadow behind, and then it crashes.

I turned of the shadow behind the mouse-arrow and everything works fine - and fast. Yes, without acceleration it works too, but very slow.
BTW who needs a shadow behind the arrow???

bye

Hi,

my description bases on a german layout.
-start
-systemsteuerung
-darstellung und designs (on the right hand)
then on the left side you will see
-mouse
when you click it, a window appears
there is a menu called pointer (i think)
click it and then you will see at the bottom of the window
-pointer shadow? (i hope Smile

good luck
Bernd

This is not a Blender option btw, so the version number is irrelevent in this case.

Martin,
Once you said it wasn't blender related it was easy to find . Don't know if it speeds blender up though.
Thanks.

I don't know if it will speed it up, but you'll have less artefacts in the interface.
