How do I change the cube's size in only one dimension?

Postby seriousmods » Mon Dec 17, 2012 2:19 am

This is my first serious attempt at using any form of 3d editing software, so bear with me.

I am trying to make a 3d model using some information from one of the blender tutorials, but I can't figure out how to adjust the size of my cube only in one direction. Every time I try, I only readjust the size of the entire cube: all I want to do is move one side to the left and right.

I know this is a dumb question, but how do I do this?

Thank you.

select the cube press the s key for scale and then press either the x,y or z for the direction of scale and then move your mouse to scale it
