I had 2.62 installed and working with my GPU... but there was bug with colors...
I have installed 2.63a and now i dont have GPU as a compute device at all...
My spec.:
CPU: i5 2500
GPU: HD6850

Same for latest AMD beta drivers(12.11 Beta 11/7/2012) and Blender 2.64.9(r52062)

I have tested all versions of blender form 2.61 to 2.65 both x86 and x86_64.
This is what i have discovered on Windows 7 (64) with HD6850(Barts) GPU and latest AMD drivers (released 17.01.2013):

When rendering with GPU:
2.61: solid ligthgray color, like there is no geometry
2.62: geometry with ambient occlusion, solid light gray color
2.63: solid black color (at this version blender switched to rendering block by block and not the whole scene as in previous versions)
2.64: blender hangs on loading kernels
2.65: OpenCL no longer supported as a rendering device
