Todays CVS Build:

This CVS build has been obsoleted by a newer build
http://www.letwory.net/cvsbuilds/bf_blender_windows_20040114.zip

Again, this is build with the SCons, using MSVC7 as the compiler. It has TTF, International, Quicktime and OpenAL support compiled in. There is still no game-engine, but we hope to get it enabled at some point, though (keep the faith! and test/explore other features in the meantime). The build has been scanned for viruses and is found to be clean.

Number of commits since previous build:
* 8+1 commits
* last commit 2004/01/13 23:49:11 CET + 2004/01/14 02:40:02 CET

Tthe relevant parts from the CVS commit logs:

* (progress) interface Added hotkey 'U' in the Unwrap UVs view3d menu item.
* (bug fix) interface Small bug in toolbox corrected
* (bug fix) metaball Metaball boundingbox bug fixed. Reported by Jiri Hnidek.
* (progress) source New ButBit button code in usa for Userpreference buttons.
* (progress) interface file->import commented out.
* (progress) yafray Global photons export for YafRay. Square arealights, spot and point can work as emitters. Needs latest yafray code, still not in cvs.
* (bug fix) render Fix for bug that caused transparent shadow change how a texture rendered itself.
* (progress) 3rd party library Newer Freetype2 library in use for better font quality.

This CVS build has been obsoleted by a newer build

Enjoy!

(shaking head)
Just.... wow....

Back in 1998(?) who would have thought all of this would come to be. I am just amazed at the progress in these daily builds. You guys rock. I expected some time to understand C before things really started moving!

Thank you for the global photonmap! Very Happy

How do I get specularity on objects with no alpha in yafray? How do I get them to cast shadows according to their alpha in yafray?

dotblend: There was one posted in one of the linux builds' thread.
I think this one was supposed to do that: http://www.coala.uniovi.es/~jandro/noname/examples/exp_test2.blend

Does it mean we have to wait another YafRay version before we can use photonlight?
I have YafRay 0.0.6-pre2 installed and I can only get strange results (all is white).
If it isn't so, can someone post a blend file of a working photonlight?

Thank you and sorry for my bad engrish

Hm, they seem to work for me. Of course out of numerous tries I've got only one acceptable result, but hey, that's something Very Happy

Unfortunately I didn't save the blend.

As far as I have understood, a yafray binary for this photon support still needs to be made available...?

Sorry for my very bad english Embarassed

All I wanted to know is:
Can I use photonlight with Blender (today daily build) and YafRay (0.0.6-pre2)?
Or do I have to wait for another Blender/YafRay build?

I understood that you'll have to wait for a newer YafRay release. The export seems to support it, but the YafRay binary (prerelease2) not yet in the exported way.

Anyone correct me if I've got it wrong.

It seems to work for me, but it takes a lot of tweaking and I'm not sure it gives the results it is supposed to give, but then again, I don't know what results it's supposed to give.

Only one light source in this one, and the whole thing is inside a closed box. the lighting seems strange on the blue ball tho, so I don't really know what results it is supposed to give, but it definitely does sometihing. Render time was around 10 mins.
