Could Blender get even faster? Yes! The user An][ares compiled the 2.32 source code with the Intel compiler and we can expect a 100% speed boost in render times. Works under Pentium and Athlon processors. Unzip and put the .exe in the same folder as Blender 2.32.

wow - i can confirm a more then 100% speed boost. it was a quick and dirty test, but regular blender took apx 43sec to render a frame while this recompiled version did it in 18(!) seconds. this sounds too good to be true. any more benchmarks?

He also posted in the News Forum. That's the definition of cross posting.

well, afaik, it is indeed quicker, but not about 100% at my testimage.
it was a little scene with mirroring and refracting glass spheres.
in normal blender it took about 32 seconds
in intelcompiled blender only 25 seconds
it is not a 100% speed up, but in every case when animating complex scenes these few seconds will become minutes or even hours (in my scene @25fps: 7sec/frame --> about 2.9 hours/minute).

padrino, a 30 second render will not be reduced as much as a 15 min render.
i ahve gotten 15 min renders down to 5 mins with the intel compile. i have been using it since the first version he released and i won't use blender unless it has been optimised now.
i am hoping that yafray can be compiled with it, but he was having difficulty.
