Black artifacts in Raytraced render (NOT normals bug)

Postby A2597 » Sun Feb 08, 2004 5:18 am

All normals are pointing outward. with the raytracer off, it looks fine. using Yafray, looks fine. useing blenders raytracer...and well.

any ideas? this is a sub surf converted to mesh model, the main body is one model, the intakes and lower hull seperate models. where the meshes intersect = lots of black specs. NOT faces. the faces are much more uniform, and alot larger.

heellllp!!! :(

I've notice this effect too and I post a bug at the bug tracker. It seems to be a self shadowing problem due to the lack of a "shadow bias" option in raytracing. I've notice this problem with curve object.

it's being ignored in the bugtracker.... *sigh*

any quick fixes guys? Really annoying. I've had entire meshes suddenly do this to me. No reason. renders fine once, next time, fugly!
