bf-blender / Windows (2004/03/05)

Postby jesterKing » Fri Mar 05, 2004 7:44 pm

A new CVS build is available

This CVS build has been obsoleted by a newer build

http://www.letwory.net/cvsbuilds/bf_blender_windows_20040305.zip

This is again built with MSVC7, through the use of SCons. The ODE gameengine has been enabled, as well as support for languages (International), TTF, and OpenAL support has been compiled in (although I don't seem to be able to get any sound from Blender). The zip has been scanned for viruses, and was found clean.

This has the cool splash by Blenergetic.

See URL below for a enduser formatted changelog:

http://www.letwory.org/tiki-index.php?p ... rogress233

This CVS build has been obsoleted by a newer build

Note: this changelog is not yet update for this build, I'm waiting for a decision about centralising this kinda stuff. Please bear with us. (It'll be all clean and snazzy).

Enjoy!

Well I saw there is a openAL support, but it still doesn't render with video and audio combinated. When will that be fixed? I mean openal render support would be awesome when you can render video with it too.

OpenAL support has always been for the game engine only, that doesn't mean it's broken.

My guess is you have problems linking FTGL. If so, there is a problem with the lib from lib/windows. AFAIR it is compiled with msvc7 (correct me if wrong), so there is somewhere a call that is not available on msvc6. Recompile FTGL is your best option.

If you do so, change the Error() implementation in FTFont.h to be without const. And move the actual implementation of that Function to the corresponding .c

Recompile, and voilá, life should smile once again upon us mortals.

PS. if you want to try msvc7 for free (and legally), go to http://www.winprog.org/tutorial and follow the msvc++ tute. If doing it all right you'll end up with a free C, C++, C#, Visual Basic and J# compiler set.... Legal...

i'm hiting a wall on that one: it's a stupid error but i can't get rid of it:

Code: Select all

E:\SRC\BLENDER>scons
scons: Reading SConscript files ...
Using config file: config.opts
scons: done reading SConscript files.
scons: Building targets ...
cl /nologo /EHsc /J /W3 /Gd /MT /G6 /GF /DWIN32 /D_CONSOLE /DWITH_QUICKTIME /D_L
IB /DUSE_OPENAL /DGAMEBLENDER=1 /DUSE_ODE /DNDEBUG /I\usr\include /c source\crea
tor\buildinfo.c /FoE:\SRC\build\source\creator\d_buildinfo.obj
'cl' n'est pas reconnu en tant que commande interne
ou externe, un programme exécutable ou un fichier de commandes.
scons: *** [E:\SRC\build\source\creator\d_buildinfo.obj] Error 1
scons: building terminated because of errors.

E:\SRC\BLENDER>cl

usage: cl [ option... ] filename... [ /link linkoption... ]

E:\SRC\BLENDER>

scons just don't find the cl command. as you can see after i can start it from the command line and it work. all my path variable is ok. scons seem just to ignore it... it's pretty anoying when i'm so close to get it compiled.

here is my path:

All I can think of now is that the PATH as scons find it from the config.opts is not the same, you might want to check that.

Also, if you use the free compiler package, be sure to run sdkvars.bat from the v1.1/Bin directory of that package on the same command-line where you intend to run scons from. Before doing that remove the existing config.opts
