Game Programming Code

Postby static45 » Thu Feb 20, 2003 8:43 pm

I want to know what kind of programming language to use to make games? Any suggestions

I have the general idea of what to do, but what can I make it all come together with.

You're "idea" is very , very general i guess :)
I'm no programmer so maybe i'm wrong!!
You can do games with any language, but i guess that the most
used one in "game studios" is C / C++
If you want to make games with Blender, you should learn
Python, a powerfull and (almost) easy language.
Good luck

C/C++

That's about it really, if you want to learn C++ buy a book. "Using C++" published by Que is the best one I have. Also check out http://nehe.gamedev.net coz they have great OpenGL tutorials.

Actually, you can make good games with most programming languajes, but C/C++ is the most widely used, since both are fast and powerful, being C faster using less memory, and C++ being more powerful.

I have way more stuff to discuss here, but since other people have done it better that I'm going to do it, just go to www.gamedev.net and check in the upper part under resources the link 'For Beginners' and you will be on the right track :D
