I've just released a strange little script that turns walk cycle animation into something... I dunno... easier to do maybe.
Check it out here:

Hi Jamesk
I've tried using your walk script in the original 2.25 but it won't run on my system because of Python being so picky. Things I am having to change are:-
Get change to get
Scene.Getcurrent change to Scene.getCurrent
and so on.
Am I doing something wrong?
What version are you using?
Cheers

That's pretty strange

... Anyways, if you would send me your edited version, once you've got it running, I'd appreciate it. Maybe that will be more cross-platform.
My dev-box is Win2K, standard Python 2.0 and the Ex.NaN Blender Publisher 2.25 Foundation licence (downloaded from this site). And naturally it runs the way it should here
/me starts scratching his head

Hi Jamsk
I've just sussed it!
I was running the Blender.org 225 (as in the header bar)
Your script only runs in the Blender.nl 225 version.
I was unaware that Python was different in the two versions
but apparently it is. Oh well.
Back to your script.
Cheers

Hmm... This makes me a bit worried... I thought I had my future-proof gear on by targeting the 2.25-version... Uck. Ack. Oh, will this pain ever go away!?

Hello JamesK
I've just downloaded the script, it looks good , but i even don't care!!
Overall i like the Walk.O.Matic concept!!
Are you a lawyer, or just a funny guy... or the two
Anyway, thank you!
I'll try the script!

Ack! Not a lawyer anyways... sheesh, a friend of mine studied law for some five or six years, and when he finally got his diploma, he decided to continue his previous work as a roof repair-man instead. He couldn't imagine actually working as a lawyer, since the whole philosophy behind it made him wanna puke...
Anyways, there's an upgraded version of walk.O.matic out. You can get it here: http://home.bip.net/millfield/walkomatic0.49.9.py
It's seriously improved. Empties are reused between runs, and heel separation etc is recalculated based on the modifications made to them by the user previous to rerunning etc... docs will follow.

OK you're just a funny guy (i guess that there's an incompatibility somewhwere)
I prefer that way
I've upgraded and try it later
Thanks
Bye
