Blender Conference: is it something for me

Postby Blikkie » Wed Aug 23, 2006 8:41 pm

Me being me, and strapped up with way too little time, I am a mediocre Blender artist and still have to look into scripting. Nevertheless I am very interested in where Blender is headed and how it's getting there, so, is the level of the presentations such that I can pick up something useful on the conference as well, or should I just leave myself and my iBook home?

You can watch videos from past conferences and judge for yourself. Although in my opinion the majority of presentations are fairly accessible to everyone. Most decisions on Blenders future and direction happen in the meetings that happen every Sunday. You can see the meeting minutes at the wiki (search for Sunday meeting).

I went to the 2004 conference (and am going again this year)
I think its safe to say there will be something for everyone....

I'd have to say that every presentation I went to I was able to follow and
they were all interesting and gave me ideas....

Take a look at the previous years:

http://www.blender3d.org/cms/Proceedings.441.0.html

Many of the talks were released on the website so you can get a really
good feel for what to expect.

If you do decide to go and you wind up bored We can hang out in the
computer lab and try to find something interesting to work on. ;)
