A session we did two years ago too... and was pretty cool.

There's no better way to inspire developers as showing how other software handles specific features. It should not be a full demo of his software works, but a demo of a specific feature you think should fit in Blender nicely.

Take your laptop, or make sure one of our demo stations has the software installed. A lot of 3d packages have free demo versions anyway.

Good examples could be modo modeling, cinema4d hair editing, xsi shader tree editing, lightwave particles, autocad snapping... you name it!

During the conference we'll make a list of people to do a short demo, just contact our conference boss Angela for that!

I'd recommend people demo sketchups snapping/inferencing tools and texture positioning tools.
http://www.sketchup.com/

Bodypaint 3Ds painting tools (character texturing focused)
http://www.bodypaint3d.com/

Piranesi painting tools (artistic post effects for architectual rendering focused)
http://www.informatix.co.uk/piranesi/index.shtml

Other useful demos would be CAT - for muscles and rigs
http://www.catoolkit.com/home.asp

face robot for facial animation (except noone would be able to demo it only show videos...)

I think it would be great to show the procedure plan of gSculpt in combination with the procedure primitive.
Additionally the overall ease of use of its modeling tools could be an inspiration to Blender coders. It is open source and it's more and more stable:
http://gsculpt.sourceforge.net/

I could provide a head model done in gSculpt.

A demo of Maya's animation editors - graph editor, dope sheet, trax editor - would be invaluable.

LetterRip: Are you comming to show us?

I could practice some Maya graph editor, dope sheet, trax editor. But I don't use them much, I'm more into Maya's MEL and expression (macro) editor.
